A thorough, compact, grammar-based approach to reading German. If your intent is to be able to read most German with just the help of a dictionary, this course is for you. Through translation assignments, you will proceed from very basic grammar to the complex sentence structures characteristic of journalistic, technical, and scholarly writing.
